The Story
A DAY AT ELMSVILLE PARK – is the first story of the Guess Who? Mama Pooh! (GWMP) Series.
“Guess Who? Mama Pooh!”
Sottile’s children’s story, “Guess Who? Mama Pooh!” is loosely based on her life, and is about a little girl surviving sickle cell disease.
It takes place in Queens, New York. GWMP is Stacey’s way of paying homage to her family, friends, doctors, nurses, police officers, and all of the folks who are responsible for her survival.
WORDS FROM THE AUTHOR
This story is so personally dear to me, and I’m looking forward to sharing it with the world knowing the difference it will make in the lives of children & grown ups.
As an adult, those who know & love me are familiar with some of the trials & victories I’ve experienced as a SCD survivor.
My story, although is unique by certain measures, it is also oh so familiar to other folks battling this disease.
I dedicate this book to all of those surviving SCD, their families, caretakers, great doctors & nurses, EMT, Police officers, scientists, hospital staff, and all who play an important role in making life manageable & grand for little girls like Mama Pooh.
MEET THE PEOPLE IN POOH’S COMMUNITY
Will the snarls from the park’s bully Vaneata stop Mama Pooh from saving the day?
You’ll have to wait to find out when the first edition of “Guess Who? Mama Pooh! – A Day In Elmsville Park,” premieres this Fall.
Vaneata – Mean Girl
Hi Stacey,
Want you to know that I am in complete support of your creative positive endeavors.
You are continuously in my prayers for ongoing health, success, and prosperity.
Congratulations on this project and may it help make the research possible to eliminate
SCD permanently.
Love, Joy, Peace,
Janice
I was wondering how the books can be purchased and have you considered donating a portion of the proceeds to SCDAA? I am in charge of the store on our site and was looking for some books to include. Thanks,
Stacey Schiano
SCDAA
Director of Development and Special Initiatives
Hi Ms. Schiano,
Thank you so much for expressing interest in the “Guess Who? Mama Pooh! (GWMP)” story and brand.
I am pleased to announce that Pre-Order forms for the”GWMP -A Day In Elmsville Park,” book will soon be available for ordering your copies. I can add you to the mailing list to keep you in the loop on the release of the book as well as the pre-order information and other brand promotions.
As an independent author and publisher the entire financial process of creating and building this brand, including the hiring of artists and the total promotional cost falls solely on me.
I would love to speak to you more on how I can have the SCDAA play a role in having this story made known to your members, however, unfortunately I can not foresee donating a large quantity under my funding.
“Pieces of Me” is a poetry/memoir book for adults and is the first book that I published. If you are interested I can donate some copies of that book for now instead. I do speak of my life experiences living with sickle cell disease in this book as well as other topics. You can find it on Amazon.com.
Please call me at 917-862-1173 to discuss some ideas that I have on how we can work together on bringing the “Guess Who? Mama Pooh!” brand to the people and members at SCDAA.
All the best,
Stacey Sottile
